Electronic Discovery

Electronic Discovery is the process of collecting, preparing, reviewing, and producing electronic documents in the context of the legal process.

H&A’s ultimate focus is assisting corporations and law firms to strategically identify and link the growing volume of digital evidence to win more cases.

As companies and individuals increasingly conduct their business electronically, emails, word-processing documents, spreadsheets and other files are providing litigators and other legal professionals with an increasingly large body of evidence. Few, if any, firms in Canada are equipped to collect and manage this evidence like H&A. In fact, our “end-to-end” expertise in e-discovery, computer forensics, forensic accounting and law enforcement, makes us the only firm in Canada that has the unique ability to help our clients maintain control over the whole discovery process and attain their discovery objectives in the most timely and cost-efficient manner.

Electronic evidence can be overwhelming in its size and complexity. To address this, H&A has developed its own in-house electronic discovery facility and proprietary software. This integrated suite of discovery software, computer forensics utilities and state-of-the-art hardware gives our experienced technical professionals the capacity to process vast volumes of electronic evidence swiftly and efficiently. We have the ability to process the equivalent of 1.8 million pages per day and have a data storage capacity of 30 terabytes. This facility gives us the ability to customize a strategy to every electronic evidence discovery project, so each of our clients can incorporate electronic evidence into their own case strategy.
